Mark Adams For Sheriff

For the past 22 years I have had the honor to serve the citizens of San Luis Obispo County as a Deputy Sheriff. During those years I have upheld my oath to protect the rights of every citizen under the law and have put forth every effort to assure the members of this great community are safe. If I am given the privilege to serve as your next Sheriff, I will provide the kind of leadership necessary to build a strong and trusted relationship between the department and members of the community. I will create new administrative policies and procedures to improve the quality of law enforcement – create greater transparency and accountability within the department – cut annual budget costs and eliminate wasteful spending. I will implement active crime prevention programs for senior citizens, maintain an active teen drug and alcohol abuse program, implement a first time offenders program and launch an aggressive gang awareness program. I have always strived to keep this community safe and will continue to do so as your Sheriff. Please join me in building a Sheriff’s Department that best serves the members of our great community.

I strongly believe the County of San Luis Obispo is one of the great, outstanding communities in all of California. Each of us can be proud to have business leaders and community leaders actively involved in building a future for the county that serves to benefit us all. It is important to understand that law enforcement plays a significant role in that process. Public safety is the number one priority for every member of our community. We want to know our senior citizens and significant loved ones feel safe in their everyday lives. That parents have the confidence their children can leave for school and return home without incident. That our business owners and workforce can prosper and make a positive contribution to the community.

Building a greater understanding between the department and the citizens it serves creates trust. A safe community is a viable community that starts with strong leadership, an administration willing to accept accountability for the actions of its deputies and a clear message the enforcement of law applies to all citizens. Above all, I will take a personal interest in the service, security and safety of every member of this community under the law.

I have had the great privilege to serve this community with honor and dignity for more than 20 years. I have shown the highest respect for my fellow officers who risk theirs lives everyday protecting our community. Under my administration I want to encourage our citizens to voice their opinions regarding law enforcement issues as we build a better future for our children.
